Weekend inflation news round-up:

  • “There’s a lot of risk that the Fed could overshoot and cause a pick-up in inflation at some point, and the market’s not priced for that risk." Um..... "a lot of risk," is like LOLZ OMG "DUH" in teenager-speak...
  • Australia inflation surprise, China rates highlight Asia price pressures.
  • Japan CPI Data a Real Inflation Signal, or Just Noise?
  • US health care costs are tumbling (down). This was expected by anyone paying attention, of course: "If Obamacare succeeds in lowering healthcare costs further then it will have important implications not only for fiscal policy, but the disinflationary impulse will also continue to provide a favorable backdrop for the Fed to maintain its über-accommodative policy stance for longer."
